Haggur Alruby is currently interning as a Social Worker at Settlement Health in the Behavioral Health section with a focus on counseling the Yemeni community. She received her BSW from Hunter College in Social Work with a concentration in child welfare and continued at Hunter for her MSW in the Advanced Standing Program on the clinical track. Haggur has worked with a variety of communities including the incarcerated, immigrants, and age groups varying from pre-k to high school. As a first-generation Yemeni American from New York City, Haggur understands the taboo around mental health in the Arab community and hopes to end the stigma around such by opening her own clinic in Yemen.
