Shukurat Arije is a first-generation Nigerian American Graduate Student who is pursuing a Master of Science in Nursing.  She is in the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Program at Hunter College and received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Adelphi University.  She has been practicing as a Nurse for over two years and is currently serving as a Registered Nurse at Northwell Health.  Shukurat has always had a deep appreciation for mental health wellness and is passionate about making a difference and facilitating access to mental health services for underserved communities.  As a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, Shukurat looks forward to educating, promoting, and advocating for mental health awareness to encourage others to seek services when needed.  Shukurat is also a Cabrini-Hunter Fellow and will obtain a Certificate in Interprofessional Education, further enhancing her skills to be the best Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner for her future patients.
