Nadia Saleh is a first-generation student who holds a Bachelor of Social Work with a Minor in English and Asian American Studies. She is currently pursuing her MSW in the Advanced Standing Program in the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College focusing on Clinical Practice with Individuals, Families, and Groups. Nadia is an APIA Scholar and a Cabrini-Hunter Fellow, and is currently coordinating a Social Justice and Equity Center. She has conducted ethnographic research in migrant communities and co-organized workshops on the criminalization of domestic abuse survivors. She has also represented East Coast institutions at the national APAHE conference to speak about culturally sustainable financial literacy programming. Nadia’s goals include engaging in policy work, running culturally sustainable programming in higher education, and conducting clinical research in underserved communities. Her ultimate goal is to become a professor in social work to address unjust disparities and open a private practice that provides mental health and health access for all.
