Dana Barker is a proud Guyanese first-generation college student pursuing her Masters in Social Work focusing on clinical practice with individuals, families, and groups at Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College. During her undergraduate studies, Dana found an unwavering passion for helping to bridge the mental health gap that disproportionately affects people of color and minority communities. Dana has interned at several nonprofit organizations that engage with communities to provide counseling and a safe environment for healing. Dana, a fellow DACA/Dreamer recipient, connects her own experiences and professional growth to her long-term goal of obtaining her LCSW and creating her own private practice that nurtures a space for many marginalized individuals.
