Helen Do is currently in the first year of the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) MS program at Hunter College. She has been a Registered Nurse (RN) for over 17 years, with both clinical and administrative experience. She was a Critical Care RN for ten years (both as staff and traveler), a Nurse Case Manager for two years, and currently works in Quality improvement. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing as well as Sociology, with a minor in Psychology. Helen is an American-born child of Vietnamese refugee parents, who grew up in Hartford, Connecticut, an incredibly under-resourced city. Having done her own work coupled with her upbringing, Helen recognizes the critical need for mental healthcare providers, particularly within underserved communities. She is excited to grow and learn from the Cabrini-Hunter Fellowships to help fully and wholeheartedly serve. On a personal note, Helen loves to love on her niece and two cats, garden when it’s warm out, and has been learning how to dance salsa!
