Anabel Rodriguez is a first-generation graduate. She was born and raised in the Dominican Republic. She obtained her BSW from the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College, where she is currently pursuing her MSW in the Advanced Standing Program with a focus on Clinical Practice with Individuals, Families, and Groups. Anabel works as a Prevention Educator and Counselor for a non-profit organization. She provides evidence-based practice curriculum and counseling support to children in underserved schools. Anabel has experience working with undocumented youths and their families providing emotional support and case management. She is passionate about helping others and working with children and young people, in particular, advocating for their rights. Anabel’s ultimate goal is to open her own practice to provide mental health support to the immigrant community. She also hopes to conduct research on the impact of immigration and mental health.
