Najnin Begum is a first-generation Bangladeshi-American and a second-year social work student who is pursuing her Master of Social Work with a concentration in Clinical Practice. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science (BS) from New York University where she majored in Science, Technology, & Society (STS) and also minored in Biomolecular Science (BMS). She is also passionate about the intersection of biological factors and mental health and how that impacts individuals, families and groups especially in regard to trauma and resilience. Najnin hopes to become a clinical social worker that practices psychotherapy with marginalized communities in order to give back to minorities as she herself has risen from poor social determinants of health and knows what that is like.
