Gabriella Bianco is pursuing her Master of Social Work from Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College with a focus on Clinical Practice with Individuals, Families, and Groups. During her time as an undergraduate student, Gabriella completed a service-learning experience that connected her with formerly incarcerated women. This opened her eyes to the injustice, dehumanization, and denial of mental health services to incarcerated folks. She now works at a non-profit organization that provides care to children, adults, and elderly folks with intellectual and developmental disabilities. She is working toward bridging the gaps in our systems and offering mental health services to those denied access. Through her work, she envisions a future of healing and reform, specifically for underrepresented communities in New York City.
