Victoria is a Registered Nurse (RN) with six years of experience in various acute care specialties, with the last three years in an Adult Mental Health unit in Troy, New York. She specializes in creating a therapeutic environment for patients with diverse mental health diagnoses and crises, focusing on noninvasive de-escalation techniques, psychoeducation, and promotion of patient autonomy. As a preceptor, Victoria plays a key role in developing many new mental health nurses. Now in her final year of the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program at Hunter College, Victoria is passionate about caring for individuals with serious mental illness and is dedicated to reducing the stigma surrounding mental health. She values holistic approaches to mental well-being while recognizing the necessity of medical treatments for those with serious mental illness.
