Halima is a Registered Nurse (RN) with more than six years of experience. She graduated from the College of New Rochelle in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. As a Bronx native, she has worked in various hospitals across New York City, primarily in the Emergency Department, where she plays a key role in saving lives. While working in the ED, Halima observed that many patients seek psychiatric care in emergency settings, often due to limited access to outpatient appointments. Passionate about improving access to high-quality mental health care in inner-city communities, Halima is pursuing a career as a nurse practitioner to further her education and enhance the care she provides. Upon completing her degree, she plans to focus on working in outpatient settings, particularly with pediatric and adult patients who suffer from mood disorders.
