Briana Lopez-Patino is currently a first-year Master's student at the Silberman School of Social Work, focusing on Clinical Practice with Individuals, Families, and Groups. She aspires to be a Medical Social Worker and earn her Medical Interpretation Certification, as well as her Healthcare Ethics Consultation Certification. She earned her B.A. in Philosophy from Binghamton University and worked at a bioethics think tank for nearly 2 years as a Project Manager-Research Assistant. In the long term, she hopes to support end-of-life care policy, help develop decision aids that uphold the autonomy of patients with terminal illnesses, and ensure patients and families who speak Spanish are properly understood and advocated for.
