Kurt Schumann, MSN, AGPCNP-BC, CCTN, is a dedicated nurse practitioner and current Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) student at Hunter-Bellevue School of Nursing. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from SUNY Binghamton and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the College of New Rochelle. He later earned his Master’s degree in Adult-Gerontology Primary Care at Hunter College. Kurt has over eight years of experience as a Registered Nurse at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital (NYPH), where he worked in transplant step-down and cardiothoracic intensive care units and was recognized with a Nursing Excellence Award for his clinical contributions to nursing research. He also served as an Academic Practice Research Fellow at NYPH, advancing evidence-based initiatives to strengthen patient care and nursing practice. Building on his clinical and academic foundation, Kurt is now committed to integrating physical and mental health care, particularly for transplant recipients and patients with chronic illness who face significant psychiatric needs. He is honored to be named a Cabrini-Hunter Fellow and looks forward to carrying forward its mission of advancing interprofessional collaboration and improving health outcomes for vulnerable populations.
