Vrushabh Shah, has led the implementation of programs designed to strengthen and sustain health departments and community-based organizations (CBO) across the United States. In the past nine years, Vrushabh has held numerous roles, including Senior Associate under NASTAD’s CDC project under grant PS14-1403: Capacity Building Assistance for High Impact Prevention, and Manager for its CDC project under grant PS19-1904: CBA for High Impact HIV Prevention Program Integration. In addition to his renowned facilitation skills and extensive subject matter expertise in behavioral health, environmental health, stigma reduction, social determinants of health, digital marketing, creative strategy, LGBTQ+ service delivery, and HIV prevention, Vrushabh oversees the fastest growing internal portfolio as part of NASTAD’s Leadership Development team. Since 2022, Vrushabh has directed the Southern CBO Summit, NASTAD’s largest convening for CBOs across the US South each year – drawing more than 200 public health professionals from across the Southern United States. He also serves as the chief facilitator and manager for NASTAD’s flagship Minority Leadership Program (MLP) and Minority Leadership Program: Executive Activator (MLP EA) – a ten-day intensive leadership development journey for emerging minority leaders and senior minority leaders, respectively, working in state and territorial health departments. Prior to NASTAD, Vrushabh worked to eliminate systemic barriers to care for people who use drugs, transform behavioral health financing in FQHCs, and implement tobacco cessation initiatives.
Vrushabh received his M.P.H. with a dual specialization in Maternal & Child Health and Epidemiology from the Boston University School of Public Health and his B.S. in Nutritional Science from Boston University Sargent College of Health & Rehabilitation Sciences.
