Kerslie Nicole Valerio is a passionate advocate and aspiring licensed clinical social worker, currently pursuing her Master of Social Work degree at the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College. With an educational background in Psychology from Penn State University, Kerslie’s professional career has been grounded in trauma-informed counseling, implementation of mental and sexual health education, and coaching and training of mindfulness practices. Kerslie is grateful for the opportunity to be part of the Cabrini-Hunter Fellowship to not only strengthen her skills in the social work arena but to also expand the professional support systems that can be created for her future clients and herself, as she knows that we can’t create a better world all on our own. Kerslie looks forward to marrying her previous experiences, the future opportunities the fellowship will create and her degree to provide spaces for people to get curious about themselves and embark on a journey of self- exploration, healing and discovery!
