Lan is a first-generation Asian immigrant in New York City and a recent graduate of New York University, where she earned a degree in Psychology with a minor in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Studies. She is now a social work student at the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College, focusing on the clinical track.
Lan has experience working with youth and immigrant populations in nonprofit and school settings, where she applied active listening, trauma-informed care, and collaborative models of support. This year, she will intern at the Immigrant Student Success Center at John Jay College of Criminal Justice to continue serving immigrant communities. Looking ahead, she hopes to help build systems of care that recognize diverse biopsychosocial realities and provide equitable support that fosters resilience and hope for marginalized communities.
