Jo Leo is a proud descendant of enslaved Africans, runaways, sharecroppers, and a member of the fourth non-enslaved generation in their family. Jo Leo is a Master of Social Work candidate at Silberman School of Social Work, where she focuses on clinical practice with LGBTQIA+ and disabled older adults. Jo Leo has a background in community organizing and creative arts. Their past work also includes religious, climate, and racial equity policy for a diplomatic advisory group, university endowment, and an international technology company. Jo Leo graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in politics from Princeton University. Jo Leo believes in the power of communities and groups to provide collective knowledge and healing; she plans to continue working with groups of global majority peoples for a liberated world.
